• Duration: 9 months

  • Owner: Vanguard Communications

  • Architects: OTJ Architects

HSU was the prime contractor for this tenant build-out for the corporate headquarters of the award-winning public relations firm, Vanguard Communications. The cold, dark shell space in Georgetown was transformed into a contemporary, yet warm and inspirational workspace. The final design by OTJ Architects was one that integrated personal and inspirational information about Vanguard’s executive team. Design and construction coordination was required between multiple key players including the building owner, tenant, and architect.

This complete build-out included MEP and life-safety systems; open and partially open ceilings; radius walls, bulk heads, and glass features; custom fabricated metal framing; finished concrete floors; bold architectural finishes; fine millwork; and an etched glass storefront. In addition to working in a mid-rise building, HSU was also presented with the challenge of receiving deliveries in a very narrow alley, in a highly congested area of the K Street Corridor.
