HSU was the prime contractor on this mission-critical project to completely remodernize the Pentagon’s Integrated Emergency Operations Center. The fast-track work included demolition and replacement/ reconfiguration of all old interior walls, flooring, mechanical systems including ductwork and HVAC systems, communication systems, electrical systems, sprinkler systems, access flooring, new ADA compliant restrooms, drywall and finishes, new systems furniture with custom consoles, new sound-rated doors and windows, motorized blinds.

HSU performed on a compressed schedule, with personnel working closely with the Pentagon’s stringent high-security requirements to address special needs and concerns in order to have the IEOC 100% complete for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration.

Challenges included: Complex MEP and communication systems; work on an active, functional campus; utilities including sanitary, storm, water, and communications; numerous specialty subcontractors; phasing; fire and security systems; and commissioning.
