HSU conducted the structural rehabilitation of the 200-year-old Frederick Douglass House, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This historic landmark is visited by thousands of tourists each year. Naturally, all of our work was carried out with the utmost care, precision, and restoration skill. Foundation repairs included jacking and under-pinning. Reconstruction included demolition and replacement of the metal seam roof of this fully occupied building. HSU maintained a 100% water-tight environment to this structure during this phased roof replacement in order to ensure the preservation of the numerous historic documents and objects housed within this structure.
