The Arboretum's stunning 446-acre campus in Washington, D.C. contains an array of display gardens, collections, and historical monuments set among native stands of eastern deciduous trees. HSU delivered Phases I and II of the phased construction of the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum. This phased project was in the planning stages for more than ten years. During Phase I, HSU constructed the upper courtyard and cryptomeria walk, utilizing blue stone pavers and blue clay roof tile. Phase II consisted of construction of the Grow Out Area. HSU's design process for this project incorporated extremely complex construction techniques, and utilized a variety of unique building materials and architecture. HSU also constructed a new, aesthetically pleasing fountain at the site.
