Location:

470 L’Enfant Plaza, SW
Washington, DC

Duration:

3 months
PlazaHSU was the general contractor on the fast-track build-out of more than 18,000 square feet of this JBG hotel building in Washington, DC. The renovation included acomplete demolition and build-back of tenant occupied space for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Programs Office.
Special considerations:

The tenant for this project was the Smithsonian Institution, however, the building owner/manager was a private commercial owner. HSU worked with all parties, collaborating and communicating throughout the course of the project. The rest of the building was fully occupied by other tenants, including a hotel, requiring the utmost care in noise and dust mitigation and delivery of materials.
This project involved all trades –mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural work, wall configurations, doors, glass, millwork, furniture IT, furniture systems, painting, flooring, fire suppression, security, and common areas including conference rooms, kitchens, and lobbies.
